okay, i have a link question here.  I need to insert as a link, an email address-the purpose of that is myspace stopped allowing paypal orders,  mad*so, being there is no website they have other than their page, customers email them, that's why the email address is needed, if it can be done as a link.....

second, here is the code i'm using so far:
Code:
<center><style>a span{display:none;}
a:hover span {display: block;
position:absolute;
top:350px;
left: 350px;
width: 300px;
height: 300px;
padding: 0px;
margin: 10px;
z-index:6;
color:TEXT COLOR HERE ;
background-color:transparent;
font-size:50px;
font-family:Arial, text-align:center;}
</style>

any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Thanks... Wink

Are you looking for the CSS of the email link or the HTML ??

Also there are a couple better ways to do this and actually have a paypal link on your myspace page.

Your welcome  Wink

Yes, that's what i'm looking for, i know the email address they need of course, but don't know how to get that to be on their site.

According to technical support @ paypal, myspace won't allow the buttons anymore, unless they have another website, outside of myspace, there can't be any links for the merchandise as paypal does not have it setup where we can put the items on the account (paypal) and just link it from the band page.  so, how can it be done?

Yes, that's what i'm looking for,

Yes what ?? The CSS (link colors etc..) or the HTML (link itself) hun.

Also, what are they trying to do with this, as there is no shopping cart so what are they using it for to buy or whatever ?? Explain a little better please so maybe i can see and let you know a way or what I'm thinking. (if it will work or be OK or not)

I was keeping it short and to the point hehehe

the html link for the email address, as they have to email them to buy their merchandise.

they are selling cd's, tshirts, books on their band site (myspace), we both dealt with technical support (mostly me) myspace stopped allowing the buttons paypal has to sell it.  they said the only way to do it is to have another website where you can put the buy now or whatever paypal button you choose, then off myspace, link the website to their.

but, they don't have another website unless you consider facebook.......i mentioned to them for 4.97 a month, get that website you referred me too, i got no reply on that.

Well idgt....

How do people know what products they have or merchandise when they do not have a secure ecommerce site to even buy from or see their products ??

Also they have free e-comm sites they can use. -or- at least ones that are cheap, preset and/or just take a percentage off each item. Plus as you said, even better just to do there own but anyways just asking so i could see maybe what to come up with besides just a email link.

They could just do that, or use a free hosting site that allows like html files and set it up with info on it and a paypal button and just link it from the myspace page to that for them to go to and but from.

we did the next best thing, setup pictures of the merchandise with prices, said to email them for purchases and mentioned it's via paypal.

i didn't find much in the way of free sites for that, i once saw a blog where merchandise was being sold, never asked about it or looked into it.

where did you do this at ?? (and if you say myspace..lmao.. that's not the next best thing) Way better what i said above.

Shit i would of even maybe hosted it for them.. or you could of with your free site you signed up with i sent you i think (if you signed up)

Yeah actually they could even get and use a free wordpress blog and set up a ecomm mod to it for free.

i did sign up for that site, but i understood it as the free site, you are not allowed to use it for asking for income or they can delete you, that's how i understood it anyway, i suggested to him for the paid price a month, to have it there and he can be set up in minutes with their templates-but received no reply on that, and yes, you would be laughing because that's where i did it, i felt like my hands were tied at this point and i would never think about asking you to do that, i just felt that would be out of line and rude to ask such a thing.

ironically, he has me introduced to his webmaster, but they are looking for another url name as it was taken and his ran out and he won't pay more money to keep it, so, they are discussing another name for it and he thinks he'll buy the url this time under a new name-this happened the next night after i mentioned paypal not being allowed on myspace anymore, so wordpress blog??

Yeah makes no since to me really.. cause if somebody is a actual real company or band / business then they would have it look legit and be legit and secure. So....

Anyways yeah that site you prpbably can not do that with i didnt think about it like that..PLUS mainly i would not actually have them even use that site or sign up to be a main host for a company/person like them and what they are trying to do and / or grow into. etc etc..

About the HTML page tho, shit there are a lot of free sites you can just use and post a link to a HTML page hun. Like i said even. I would to but.. If you can just make one and hosted some where would be even better plus if it was actually under there own name or URL.

Yes wordpress.. WordPress .com ยป Get a Free Blog Here then add something like this mod plug-in http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bestsmallshoplite/
