If I remember correctly that error message is usually due to one of three problems either a problem with your bios, a problem with the master boot record, or a damaged hard drive

Don't have alot of time right now, but try the steps in this video and see what if that works for you if not I'll have to try and help you out more later

Bios is set properly I booted ubuntu from a live cd and worked fine. I'm guessing that the hard drive is dead, so need to get a new hard drive and install windows on that.

not meaning 'set' meaning the motherboard bios themselves going out or bad. Needs new installed / inputted if not maybe even a motherboard. Had something like that just happen to one of mine bout 1-2 yrs ago cuse of damn McAffeesuckie

Well my sister just told me that before it happened Damien (her bf) was playing Diablo 2, and all of a sudden the computer was making a weird sound for awhile, the screen went black, and then shut off. When he tried booting it back up shortly after is when that screen came. Plus the bottom of the notebook gets extremely hot, and the fan doesn't move (I just noticed that).

I'm having my friend Chris take a look at it as I don't know much about hardware, and this dude will defiantly fix it, and for free too. Just don't know how long it'll take.

True I hate now her laptop is put together though, mine I can take the bottom off, and work right there, here's you literally haft to pop out the speakers, and the l key on the keyboard, and then there's the hardware. I remember she had to get a new graphics card about a year ago, I just don't remember why.
