Removing and uninstalling IE8 - Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP (most all editions)

Start menu >> Run >>  type ie8 >> click on the folder named spuninst >> then the computer icon named spuninst with the underlined description that says, "Windows service pack uninstall" below the icon.

or direct path of

C:\WINDOWS\ie8\spuninst

Also note:  if not showing in your start >> "all program menu" from your start button, just go to your start button >> my computer >> program files >> Internet explorer folder, then find the IE icon and right click in and select create desktop shortcut.

or direct path:

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

Some times and on certain non main admin profiles on windows XP it will not show in your all program menu nor be able to uninstall it from your "add/remove program lists"

Only way to do it if this happen to you or if you updated and or installed a new service pack like #3, this will happen and will not be able to uninstall unless you do as said above, Plus might get a warning, if you try and reinstall IE8. Just don't reinstall, Only use the windows update. Or do as above said.

Smiley

Hope that helps
