 what that says   *up

i ahve tried Winrar, winshrink, Utorrent,

they all seem to only compress like a normal compression rate like the normal windows program does that comes with windows, or like a little widget i have from yahoo i use alot to unzip, well it compresses to but they all only seem to compress about the same like about by like 200kb and thats all

i want some thing  / need something that will like make a file that is 10mb to like 5 mb etc etc

like cut in half or more

what is best or any advise ??

the best i seen was utorrent, it will make a file thats 250mb like 50kb

and yes i know why but,, uhm not sure exactly how that works cause when i compress it or make it a torrent file, makes it small for me to send out / upload but still big file for somebody to DL it, but thats ok when they use Utorrent program itself, but if thee no seeders then it will still take them forever to DL it.

what is the best way to do this you all think ??

kind of like how adobe does it with a package manager where it comes to you like 299mb but when its really 600mb and in an extraction type file that can be DL'd fast but then when you open that it has to do the actually real downloading of it. It just makes it easier to actually download to your computer, etc etc

know what i mean ???

or am i doing something wrong with the winrar or those programs ??

all i am doing is what is says, and right clickin them and hitting compress.. etc etc and i set the options for best compression etc etc

so wtf ??

whats the best way to make this happen so i can upload huge files fast and make smaller to do so plus so others can Dl them faster ??

how do you guys produce the best result ??

By right clicking the item to compress and   -- select --- add to"blahblah.rar"

or by adding in to the program and doing it ??

and also its weird cause i did a video file that was 500mb and it come out 5.5mb, which is awesome,  BUT then i did a folder with a 375mb file plus other files in the main file (which the total off all of main folder inside was still 375mb)  in it and it only came out to be 315mb, so it did not take off much on that one. I dont get it .. wtf ???

I've always used winrar, and never needed to use anything else.

just right click > add to archive

about those that you already did, in some cases it won't do much since it wont compress more that it can so at times you're gonna have really low archives but at times not that low, they all do the same

you can get more info about it here too
http://www.win-rar.com

yeah, thats what i do but, still seems on certain things it doesnt compress worth a shit, but on other things its great.. WTF. you think it would still be the same ratio of compression on it all no matter what type file.

oohh yeah and i will 4 sure check that out more and see at that link plus some other places to see whats up with it.

look at it this way
a .gif could only be compressed to a certain point, after that it won't compress any more cause it doesn't have more info to strip out

on the other hand a .jpg that has millions of colors could be compressed more since it has more info that could be stripped out

yeah i know and understand it that way, but still.....

like this for an example.

i did a movie file that was 500mb, i compressed it into a rar file and it ended up being 5.5mb

but then do a damn install .exe file or a folder with a program file in it that is 385mb, then compress it and it comes only out to 375mb

didnt really do shit... if that

Winrar can also compress zip files as well...

and can't you up the compression ratio? I've heard so but I've compressed a few files so I know next to nothing about it.
