Well I'm going to make a site strictly for the best top of the line free software. Like Gimp being an alternative to PhotoShop, Cinelerra, and Wax 2.0 being an alternative to After Effects, and so on.
So if anyone of you can help me out with some domain ideas that'd be great, and if you'd like I'll make you a mod on the site, and we can work together as a team.
Here's some I thought of, but not liking the names at all.
alternativesource.tk
alternativeapps.tk
freeapps.tk
bestfreeapps.tk
topfreeapps.tk
So far alternativeapps.tk is what I'm looking at, but I need more ideas.

What with the .tk top level domain?
I'd highly recommend trying to get a .com
You get better traffic with a .com
Very few people are going to remember that .tk tld
As far as domain names most of the ones i thought of are used...
the only one with a .com available is
myfreewaresource.com

I use the .tk domain, cause I have absolutely no money at all, and no source of income so I can't buy a domain name, and even if I did I wouldn't have enough to keep it up, and I'm using byethost with dot.tk (with the name servers of course) so I can have a free website, and do pretty much whatever I want on the site, except I can't have a webmail service, or my own email for my site on it. So it has it's advantages, and dis advantages.

freeware, and free software are to different things, and I don't want people thinking the site will only have freeware, or more freeware that free software. Not to mention when I usually see a site that has free in the domain I think it's a scam.
Anyway I decided I'd go with alternativeapps.tk I registered it earlier, but I gotta wait for it to show up.

I have a few for sale man that might be good to if you want them.

Plus you do know that a domain name is only freakin 9 bucks a year right.. 20 with ID protect which is needed if well visited & known site.

I use byethost.com which is hosted by vistapanel.net where I can get Sub-Domains: 50 Add-on Domains: 50 Parked Domains: 50 MySQL Databases: 50 Webspace: 5632MB and Bandwidth: 204800 MB I then use the name servers on byethost ns1.byet.org ns2.byet.org ns3.byet.org ns4.byet.org ns5.byet.org and use them on dot.tk as setting the option use my own dns server and then I park the domain on byethost again, and that's where I got the domain for free. It sounds complicated, but it really isn't I still gotta arrange time to do a tutorial on it. |
