Hey guys I've been working on making a pdf book for about 2 days now so you guys can print out the pages and have the hotkeys of Gimp be displayed on your wall by your computer so when you're using Gimp you can look at thoughs, and kind of have a little "Cheat Sheet".

When Gimp 2.8 is released this cheat sheet will be updated for that version.

NOTE: You must have some sort of PDF reader in order to view this file.

Now you can use The Gimp to convert the pdf file to raster images, aka have each page show up in a layer, or you can checkout one of my favorite alternatives to Adobe Reader called Foxit Reader! It's compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, and Linux. Also let me point out that if you're a Linux user remember that most distros when you install them they come with a Document Viewer which views numerous file formates as well as pdf files. If you're distro did not come with one then give Foxit Reader a try. (I recommend compiling it from the tarball though)

Sorry I'm not a mac user, and don't know any mac software for this, and I only recommend software I've tried. That way I know it's legit.

The download includes the pdf book, as well as separate images of each page.

* thegimpcheatsheet.zip (2576.35 KB - downloaded 0 times.)

I just updated the cheat sheet a little bit, with when you left click and drag holding the rectangle, or ellipse tool holding SHIFT you get an exact square, and if you hold ctrl it expands from the center.

Additionally I added how to select more, and less using the fuzzy select tool aka magic wand, left click+drag up to select more, and drag down to select less. Have been added.

I maybe adding more later, just depends on who wants what added.

Nope, I don't make pdf files really at all, and when I do it's once in a great while.

I used one of the OpenOffice apps to make this, which was the drawing one (it sucks, or maybe I'm just not good at the program)

I also use PDFEdit to edit pdf files sometimes.

By the way, you do know that's the best format to do it right ?? Not just ebooks but.. Most docs especially when multi page or links, images, vid, etc are included. Plus of course awesome to do tuts in & with. Wink

Portable Document Format, we had to learn that in school when we took drafting. I didn't understand why though.

I just don't like making pdf files, it's just me I'd rather post a video tutorial.
