Monitor troubleshooting
This tutorial is for very basic troubleshooting advanced help should be sought out if none of these tips help.
Problem one:
My Monitor isn’t displaying anything.
The most simple solution for this is that your monitor may simply be unplugged. Check to see if it the power light to the monitor is on. If it isn’t than more than likely the monitor is unplugged from the wall socket. If your monitor is plugged into the wall check and see if it is it connected to your computer. If it is connected check and see if the cord is damaged in any way. If it is damaged any computer shop can replace a cord with very little effort. If there is you will need to have it replaced. If none of these steps work then you have either a software issue or a hardware issue post your own topic in the help section for further help.
Problem two:
My monitor is flickering. Is there a way I can fix this?
The most common cause of this issue, is usually a refresh rate that is too high. Fortunately the solution is quite simple.
Right click on your desktop. A small menu should appear. Select ‘Properties’ at the bottom of the list. A window that says ‘Display Properties’ should appear. Select the ‘Settings’ tab. Click on the Advanced’ button. Click on the ‘Monitor’ Tab. Select the next lowest Hertz level from the drop down menu. Press the “ok” button. If your screen still flickers follow these steps again and try to lower refresh rate even more. If this does not solve your problem advanced help will be needed.
