OK listen up people.
I have had to say this way to many time now it seems. People think before you act, i mean really. Please do not EVER install anything from any site that you visit that all of a sudden you have a pop up or say a music player on sites like myspace or random video sites telling you that you can not view or see the page or video /. music player without installing this add-on or an update is needed. If that is the case, please find the source of the problem (like if it's a flash player or in lameness terms, "a video or music player") Do not install it from that page. Go to the source of the program meaning the main programs site and download and install it from there. Such sites like Adobe.com and get the actual true program or update and install it from there ONLY. All these other sites not even if they are top known site can be trusted as a lot of times people and hackers get into there systems and create coding that is embedded in those items sometimes without the site owners even noticing yet until somebody is already affected and informs the site owners. So please once you see a download dialog box out of the blue some where. It's pretty much common since but it slips by a lot of people. Sometimes it even looks like it comes from your computer and not the web site or online. So basically just stop and think for a minute, figure out what it may be and then check with the proper correct site to see if there is a update available or if the program needs to be installed, install it directly from the company site that produces and creates the program or update. We see this so many times in our world of tech support and computer repair that it's getting crazy. So beware of what you are doing and downloading at all times. Here is an example of one that pops up and acts like a virus scan and saying your system is infected and needs to be scanned when this is actually malware, virus's and spyware that is trying to be installed on your computer that is going to cause major issue's. See this attached screenshot for an example click here and beware of things like this. If you do ever see this and it happens to you. The first thing you do is Click the "X" button on your browser (the close button). Do not click anything else, Do it as fast as you can and then once closed all browsers. Take and clear your temp files and cookies asap. After that then you can restart your browser. Plus i would run a virus scan after that to make sure nothing squeezed through on ya. You can also refer to one of our posts in our support forum here for another example: ( SECURITY ISSUE ) Downloading things from myspace or * NEW * Fake spyware program, virus warning 08-09-07 See this image as it is one of the most well known going around right now. (Also do not forget the said above also, as that is something completely different) Lets just put it this way. Always update and install from the direct source. Not for any site just telling you to. What ever the program says it is "suppose to be" Go to that direct site and check for the update or program to install from there and only there. Please people don't be stupid / lazy and fall for this stuff.
